Salmonella Rex 2008 Recording

back to salmonellarex.com
In 2008, Salmonella Rex hit the studio to record a full-length album. Work started in February, but a bulk of the tracks were recorded after the band's farewell show on May 15.

Most tracks were recorded on Greg's computer in Logic in the little backyard shack behind 4513 Avenue H. During and after recording, Jeff mixed them separately on his computer. We took the album to be professionally mastered at Terra Nova Studios in Austin once all the mixes were finalized.

Our only other locales used for recording were reverby rooms—the bathroom in Robot House (for Rebound and Isabelle) and the east staircase in UT's ECJ building (The Hills, Space Glove Blues, The Loneliest War, and Cxiam)—in which we played drum tracks and recorded back the natural reverberations.
